Your Health Is Part of Your Purpose (EP 120)

Liz Watt is back for part two, and we go deeper into what happened after her personal health turnaround. Liz is the CEO and co-founder of Be Healthy Utah, an author, speaker, health coach, and someone who has built a meaningful community around natural health, resilience, and the belief that it is never too late to make changes that support a better life.

She shares how a dream, a big leap of faith, and a conference that did not go exactly as planned became the beginning of something much bigger. We talk about burnout, building a team, taking care of your health while chasing a purpose, learning to adapt when life shuts things down, and why success sometimes looks like celebrating the 400 people who showed up instead of mourning the 1,100 who did not. Liz’s message is simple but powerful: live today in a way that helps you bless others tomorrow.

[0:15] Hello, friends. Uncle Marv here, and welcome back to the Unhealthy Podcast. And this is going to be part two of our conversation with Liz Watt. And in part one, she took us down the path of her personal journey, probably a little further than she wanted to go, but I thanked her for that and talked about.

[0:39] The shift of creating a healthier life. Today, we are going to move from that and talk about some of the practical frameworks. For those that don't know, if you skipped part one, Liz is the CEO and co-founder of Be Healthy Utah. She's a speaker, author, podcaster, and a very passionate advocate for helping individuals and organizations create healthier, more resilient lives. And we're going to get into it. Liz, welcome back to the show. Oh, thanks, Marv, for having me on again. It's a pleasure to be able to be on. Yes, yes. So in part one, so I asked a question, and then I wanted to take us down the road of how you started out, and we never got back to finish the question. Let me ask you, do you remember what that question was? Yes, you asked me why it is that I actually, what was the backstory of why we started the conference before the dream? What was the reason for that? Yes, most people hear your story and it starts with that is that you woke up and had a dream and we're going to have this big conference and stuff. And I'm like, why'd you have that dream? And you took us through a lot of your journey and explained a lot of things that helps, you know, place the groundwork for everything there. So when we left, we had pretty much gotten through your journey to healing and everything.

[2:02] So why don't you kind of round out for us from where we ended last time to answering that question?

[2:10] Yeah. So as we talked about is that I started to heal my body. My body did, it was almost like it was a reversal. And I had, I really feel like I had a miracle. And I, so a lot of people are like, well.

[2:26] Why would you have a miracle? I believe that our bodies are miracles and anytime it heals, it is a miracle because it changes our lives in ways that, you know, when our bodies are not sick and healthy, then we can't do things that we'd normally want to do in our lives. You know, there's a saying I say that we are living life or we're experiencing life. And before I was living life, but after my body finally restored, it was like I was living, I was experiencing life and I was excited about what I had learned in the process. So I started to, I became certified as a health coach and started to do one-on-one coaching with a lot of clients. And the thing is, is that my husband, he would be like seeing people within his own practice and say, you probably need to go see my wife. And so they would come and see me and we would, I would teach them more about health, started introducing them to these, some of these things that I was doing. We started seeing miracles in their lives and it was, I loved it. I love to be able to do that, to be able to teach people.

[3:41] And then we decided that we are going to go and speak at this conference, and it we're going to speak on gut health and the microbiome so what that is what we talked about in the first episode about healing our guts right, because as soon as we heal our gut then our bodies can take over and do what it does best.

[4:04] And rather than try to force it let our body do what it does best which is heal, because that's what they're created to do, is to heal. And so anyways, we'd end up writing a book called Healthy Gut, a Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, A Healthy Approach to the Microbiome. And we decided we're going to do a presentation on how do we heal our gut and.

[4:29] What are the things that we're doing in our everyday life that are taking away from it being healed. And so we got up, and as we were speaking, it was like people were so interested in what we had to say because they had never heard of it. And we this was probably in this was in 2018 that this happened and now a lot of people know about gut health and the microbiome but then they, they this is a new concept to them and so we're sitting there we, they were so interested we went to our booth they would not leave our booth alone because they wanted to just learn more and i brought 200 books that i, you know like the book that i said that we wrote, we ended up selling every single one of our books. And so it was a really successful conference for us. And so we just went home and we're like, hey, that was great. And you know, everybody loved it and went on with our days. But then two weeks after that, I ended up having that dream that I was standing in front of thousands of people because we put on our own natural health conference.

[5:43] And so that is where the dream came. And I woke up in the morning and I was like, as I sat there and I thought about it, you know, I had gone through, so much trying to heal myself and my life was so much different before than it was now. And I just thought you know it was 20 years of being in pain and I thought what if we did create this platform where people could come and learn the stuff that I did people would not have to suffer for 20 years like I did, and they could walk away having this like I didn't know what doctor to go see I didn't know who could help me but what if we created this platform where so many educators were there that people could learn. So I was like, my heart was like beating so quickly because I wanted to.

[6:39] I thought this would be so awesome to be able to do that. But then it was like the logistic part of it. I was like, I don't know if we could do that because we've never put on a conference before. And so I was like, that's too big for me. I know I'm not going to do that. You know, that's way too big for me. So I've helped with conferences and they are overwhelming. But the idea that you had this dream now, from the time that you and your husband presented on stage together, did you have conversations in between then about, yeah, would you want to do that again? No, no conversation at all. No, we loved, we loved to be able to go speak at a conference. Never the thought of putting on our own conference. And so that night though, it was like, I could not quit thinking about it all day. And I finally just said, hon, I had a dream.

[7:37] That I was standing in front of all of these people. And because we put on a natural health conference, we need to put on a natural health conference. And the first words out of his mouth were no, because we don't do that. You know, he's a doctor, he sees patients. And, you know, yeah, I was seeing clients and we weren't standing on stages doing that. And we had never put on a conference before in our life so how would we even do that where would we even go like where would we even start, and you know it's kind of this is a business I m going to take you off on a little business tangent right because i think this is so important for people to understand but our son had to do a, a school project but he had to go and talk to an entrepreneur, and so he there was an entrepreneur that was in our neighborhood and so at the end he's like hey lance what's your best advice and this this guy in our neighborhood lance he said you know.

[8:43] Don't recreate the will but look to see what you love study it out and do it 10 better, and you know that conference that we went and spoke at there was a lot of things that were driving my husband crazy because he likes to run a tight ship with how he does things and, you know, with his practice and things like that. And so there was things that were driving him crazy. And I just said, you know, hon, all we have to do is do it 10% better. Like, we don't have to put on this extravagant conference.

[9:16] We just have to do it 10% better than what it was before. And so somehow that like put a fire in him and he was like, okay, let's just try it. So we went out and found a place to have the venue. And we started trying to find, you know, vendors and speakers and trying to pull, get ourselves into the natural health realm. And oh my goodness, like even though we were in the natural health, we did not have the connections that are out there. So we had to work every single day to be able to try to find these people and you know we were visiting offices and on the phone like non-stop and, we put so many miles on our car and we walked to business after business and that was just to put the conference together but how do you actually get people in the seats like, the marketing to be able to do a conference is so hard insane so.

[10:19] Hard i mean to get people in your seats is far harder than getting vendors and speakers and figuring out the logistics of that it's the marketing of trying to reach people, and it was one of the most hardest things that we ever did in our lives and you know we had, we had promised everyone that came that there was going to be 1,500 people there. We told the speakers, we told our vendors, we were just, and we were trying to do everything that we could. And we were just, we bought 1,500 bags. We got, you know, stuff to put in the goodie bags. We did 1,500. And I mean, it was like the seats that we sat up in the conference, we put 1,500 because we just kept on telling ourselves that that's what our goal is that we're going to have. And somehow we're going to manifest that, right?

[11:13] Well, it was the day of the conference and only 400 people came.

[11:17] And I felt like a failure. I felt like that this was like, you know, it's like we put our whole life into this and we had been telling everybody that it was 1500 and only 400 people came. And I just wanted to just walk out, you know, because I was so embarrassed thinking that like, oh, yeah, you thought you could do this. You know, yeah, you thought that you were so smart. like, yeah, look, you weren't able to reach your goal, right? And then that familiar voice that keeps on creeping in came in and just said, you know, don't mourn the 1,100 that didn't come, but celebrate the 400 that did.

[12:05] And as I started to look around, I started to see the smiles on all these people. And those 400 that came, they did not care that there wasn't 1,500 people there. They were so excited to be able to come to a conference to learn about natural health. They were so excited to be able to talk to all of these doctors and practitioners and educators that were there to just share their knowledge. And there was one guy that we talked to and he's like, you know, my doctor's been trying to get me on some statins. And I, as I come, I realize maybe I don't need to be on these statins. Maybe I can do something else instead. And, you know, people were just coming up. Thank you. Thank you. Utah needs this. And we're so happy that you did this. And, you know, that's the perspective that's within us is that we have, we set ourselves up with what we think it needs to be. But it actually turned out exactly the way that it needed to be, that those 400 people came, those 400 people were fed, those, you know, fed the knowledge. And, you know, even the vendors, those are the people that we felt the worst for, but they kept on coming up and they're like, no, you don't understand. And like they're used to going to these conferences and like.

[13:33] You know, like home shows or whatever that were not centered around natural health. But what we did is we gathered people that were interested in natural health. And so even though there was only 400 people there, the vendors did great. It was probably one of their best shows because we gathered people that were interested in natural health.

[13:59] And that's the important thing right there. Yeah, the target. So then, yes. And so then we decided that we were going to do it, that we're going to do the following year. Yeah. Because the beginning of the show, no, we were done, right? But by the end, with everybody telling us that we need to keep on going, we decided to go out and do it again. And then it was six weeks before our next conference. And the year of our COVID hit. COVID hit. Yep. And shut everything down. Yep.

[14:35] So, I'm going to skip ahead. There's way more to this story. I know people want to hear more about it, but is there something else you want to know about that so far that I went to over? Well, what I want to do is I want to skip ahead because I think it's, I mean, your start at 400, I'll be honest, a lot of conferences don't start at 400. They start smaller. So, I was going to say, looking back, I'm sure a lot of people would say, and you mentioned the change of perspective, Be Happy for the 400 that showed.

[15:10] But you also battled through the year of our COVID and the conference has not only survived, it has thrived.

[15:18] I want to tell people about the website, BeHealthyUtah.com. I know I gave the link at the end of our last show, but just to let people know that conference is bigger than ever, it is happening this November 13th and 14th. It is at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George, Utah. It's only two days, folks. You can make this happen. What do people need to know about this year's conference? Well, this year is going to be our third year in Southern Utah. We've done it already six years up in, you know, Northern Utah. And this is so that that conference is a much smaller conference. Last year, we had 1100 come. We're hoping to get 2000 to come this year to that conference.

[16:05] And it is it's just a smaller version. If you want to be able to, you know, our conference that we have up here, we had over 5000 people that came to that conference. And so if you want to come to a nice getaway that's in the southern part of Utah, where Zions and Bryce Canyon and all that stuff are right there, November is a great time to be in the southern part of Utah. It's just so beautiful, and the weather is great. So with that conference, we're still going to do the same platform where we have speakers. We'll have probably about 25 to 30 speakers. We'll have close to 100 vendors plus we do interactive classes so for people, that want to come and try like what's a yoga class what's a you know um.

[16:58] A, you know, Qigong class or a meditation sound bath. Like we have all of these different types of classes that people can come and try. Plus we do food demonstrations. You know, a lot of, we've taught a lot of people how to do the fermented vegetables, like we talked about in the very first episode. You know, what are these things that, how can we incorporate these, these healthy foods into our diet because really it is about the foods that we eat is everything we take in our body is who we are, and so a lot of it starts with the foods and so it is two days full jam-packed of learning all about natural health and you know a lot of times you go to a conference and there might be here and there some natural people that are that are displaying what they have. But we vet every single vendor that comes in and we go to their websites. We look to see what they're doing and we tell them, you can only bring this to the conference because we want to make sure that when you're there, that it is natural. Yeah.

[18:10] I want to draw attention real quick because I'm in the tech space. We have conferences all the time and I have never seen a conference with a ticket price of $17. Well, that's because it's our, that's because that is our early bird special right now. Even still, you might as well get it right now, but yes, it is. They, the tickets will be going up. They'll be going up to $27, but yeah, for $17 for two days. And even right now, the early bird, if you want to come for one day is only 10. So that is amazing just because that is, um, our early bird right now. So if you want to come, that is to be able to get what you get there is really, we're not we're not doing this. We're doing this because we are passionate about natural health and be able to have people learn. And, you know, when we go there, those two days, my husband and I, we feel like we're like rock stars because everybody is so excited to be able to be there and know that they get to meet us for those two days. As soon as we walk out of there, nobody knows who we are. But.

[19:26] The conferences are such a great learning experience that they are so grateful that we sacrificed so much to be able to bring this. And so it's really not about the money when we get into it. It's about creating a community within Utah and also the surrounding states, to be able to come and learn about how to take care of their bodies. Because, you know, we only have one life. We have our bodies.

[19:57] And our bodies are here to carry us out, to be able to create the purpose that we want, to be able to help other people. I really believe that we're here to bless other people. And when our bodies are not at their best, we can't bless other people. Well, we can, but in just a lot of different ways, right? Yep. Okay, so again, BeHealthyUtah is the website, folks, for the price of a lunch. You can get two days of a great natural conference there.

[20:29] I want to spend a little bit of time talking about your Thrive Framework. Yes. And go ahead. Oh, no, no, we can't. Was there something else you want to say before I get into that? No, go ahead. Go right ahead. Okay. So the reason why I created the Thrive Framework is because when I look back to creating this conference, it's not just about creating a conference. It's about how do you pull this together?

[21:03] What is the back part of that? Yeah, we all have passions in our lives, but that doesn't mean that you can go out and just create a conference around it or whatever it is that you're doing. You can't go and create a business around it even though you have a passion for it. And so that's why I created the Thrive Framework because it was like, what is it that I had to do to be able to sustain myself to be able to create this? Because I want to be able to continue to have this for a long time. I don't want it to be, you know, some businesses come and go, right? Some conferences come and go. But how do we have it to have a lasting impact that can affect generations? That's really what I wanted to do. So I sat down and I was like, okay, what are the different things that I had to learn? Because we are here to thrive. We are not just here to survive, right? But we are here to thrive. So what do we do?

[22:07] So T, that stands for team. We have to create a team around us. And, you know.

[22:16] Like I said, it took everything out of us to be able to create that conference. But I learned so much stuff that I needed to learn. But as it got bigger, as the conference started to get bigger, I couldn't keep up. And I would wake up in the morning. I would be on my couch by six o'clock in the morning and not get off my couch until like midnight because I was so consumed with everything that needed to be done. I was doing the website. I was doing the newsletters, the podcasting. I was onboarding everybody, all the vendors. I was finding the speakers. I was, you know, everything that had to do with all the technical side, that's not my husband. That was me. And it got to the point where my husband would be like, you know, he's running his practice. Plus, he's trying to do this. And we split up our things that we needed to do. He was in charge of actually going out and finding the doctors and trying to find the vendors. but I was doing all of the backend stuff. And there was just so much backend stuff that needed to be done. And it finally got to the point where I realized that I was the bottleneck of helping us grow.

[23:41] And if I want to have Be Healthy Utah grow, then I needed to create a team. I needed to create a team around me. And so I started to look for social media people. I started to find virtual assistants. I started to get people that would help us, you know, find like the day of the conferences because before it was just me and my husband doing everything, but if we wanted to grow we had to create that team around us and so you have to look at who can you bring on your team, that's going to help you get to the next level and so mine was I had to find social media people and I had to find virtual assistants that could help me though that was number one priority so i went on the hunt i found a great team around me that now, i would not be able to be on the podcast with you today Marv if i didn't do that because i need to have that team that's behind me right that's helping me and so okay the next one is h, i think you probably all know what h stands for and it's health.

[24:53] Because we have to have our health. And this is where we go and we talk about, you know, how can you increase your health? Because before, I could not be doing the conferences with the health that I had. Our health is everything. It's how we show up. It's how, you know, the clarity that we can have. When we are not healthy, we cannot serve at the best capacity that we can. So what can you do to increase your health? And like I said before, I think I said that in the first one, it wasn't, I didn't have to go and totally change everything. But what are these few things that we can add in so that we can become more healthier? The next one is resilience. Okay, we talked a little bit about when the COVID hit. Well, that conference was canceled, but we had three conferences canceled. That was devastating for us well what did we do well i ended up doing an online summit i had never done an online summit before in my life, but that's how we were you know i dove in i figured out how to do that and we had a successful five-day summit while everything was shut down.

[26:11] We have to be resilient we're going to have things that are going to happen to us we're going to have you know conferences cancels we're going to have you know contracts that are that come to an end we're going to have people that walk away from our business like we're going to have things like this that happen to us, but what can we put in place so, that we can become resilient because if we plan for that ahead of time, then when these things happen, we can continue on our, we can continue on, you know, our, our path, our journey, our things that we are trying to do and, and to be able to get

[26:54] our message out there. Right. Okay. So then the next one is invest in growth. That's for I, you know, there was a lot of things that, um, I had to learn that I never learned that I didn't know before. And I'd love to tell this story that my husband, when he was a chiropractor.

[27:15] When he first became a chiropractor, he was like, I have, I'm done with school. Like I have been in school for how many years? He was in school. It was probably close to seven years before he could become a chiropractor. And that's in, you know, that college and beyond whatever. And so by the time he was, became a doctor, he was like, I'm done. I don't need to open up another book again.

[27:40] But when he started to realize that, you know, there was patients that were coming in that needed more help, he opened up a book and he started to invest in other learning. He started to invest in higher education. He started to invest in learning how, what functional health was. And when he did that, his whole practice changed. And now he was able to serve so many more people. And so when we are looking at investing within ourselves, all that is going to do is help people. So we need to look to see like, you know, there might be some classes you need to take. There might be a conference you need to attend. There might be some books, some podcasts, whatever that is. Like our cars are the biggest teachers to us if we allow it. You know, we can either just listen to some random things or we can be fed the whole time that we're learning. And so take every opportunity that you have to invest in yourself because you don't know anything.

[28:47] How that can affect what you learn can actually bless so many other people later on.

[28:54] Okay, so then we go to V, value people and value yourself. Because when we are within an organization, people will do anything for us if they realize that we value them. And you know within our community with trying to grow our conference we actually do um, before the conference we do a kickoff it's three to four weeks before the conference happens and we put on a dinner for all of the vendors we get them together we provide the dinner we um, we teach them if there's something that will help them with their business we bring in speakers and it's all just for the vendors. Why do we do that? Because we value them. We value who they are and we want them to be able to succeed. And because of that, the vendors keep on coming back to us. They keep on sharing who we are. And the reason why we grow so much is because of the vendors and because each one of them know that we care about them.

[30:04] They know that we appreciate them. And during the conference, we don't just go off and maybe, you know, get the social highlights with whoever's there. But we go to every single booth while we're there.

[30:21] Talk to the vendors. Ask them, How are they doing? Is there anything we can get for them? You know, is there, what can we do? And they all feel like they are valued. And that's how it is within our organizations, too. If we take that extra time to just value who they are, they will do everything for us. And also, you know, there's a second part of that, value ourselves. And, you know, we need to realize in order for us to be able to do what we want. We have to realize that we are who we are because of the things that we've gone through and we can continue to be able to be that person if we take the time for ourselves. You know, that's where it's like you need to take time for your exercising. You need to take time to be able to eat healthy foods. You need to take time to be able to take off and take that personal time to recharge and to be able to get back to what's important to you, right?

[31:28] That's where it comes to valuing yourself. And the next one is elevate.

[31:33] You know, we see a picture and it's like a guy that stands on top of a mountain and he's like, I did it, right? We all see that picture. It's like, oh, I made it to the peak, the top of the mountain. But what it is, we don't realize, what we don't see is the bruises and the falls and that I don't think I can do this anymore. And are you, I just, I just, I can't do this anymore. And I just, I'm going to stop.

[32:05] Elevating is when we start to change our perspective, and it's that not seeing the, you know, when I wanted the 1500 there, but we only had the 400, right? It was that change of perspective to make us realize that the 400 was there. Why was the 400 there?

[32:27] Okay, the 400 was there because it gave us a great start to be able to create this conference. And we knew then the next time we did a conference that how to run it better. We knew how to reach out to people. We knew like how to do the proper onboarding for people. We knew when people came to the conference, how to have them have a better experience while they were there. If we would have had the 1500 people come, we would have, it would have been pretty chaotic and we would not have been able to go to conference. And so it's like learning that type of stuff is that when we have, we have to elevate our thoughts and our perspective so that we can become that person because there are going to be things that happen to us but when we change our perspective within our businesses it's like we can get through anything and so why did i create the thrive framework because i want us to all succeed and to become because I you know the more that we succeed the more we can.

[33:41] Create organizations around us that's going to bless so many more people and I you know it's about thriving within it it's not you know so many years I just survived, but it's truly about learning how to thrive with whatever we're doing.

[34:01] All right. Well, I purposely held my tongue because I had questions in there, but I'm like, nope, I'm going to let her just power through because I didn't want to interrupt your flow. And I wanted the listeners to really hear how you've been able to, you know, blend your holistic health, the personal development that you've gone through, the coaching, leadership training, and all of that as part of the Thrive framework. It. So, uh, thank you for that. I do have a question though, uh, throughout this process, because I know that

[34:37] people might look at this and say, well, I was all excited about the health stuff. I'm not into the conference stuff, although I'm sure people will probably go, but in your time of doing this, what have you learned about the health concerns that people are most desperate to solve? There's a lot of people that have auto immunes right now. Okay. A lot of auto immunes and also diabetes. And there's a lot of people that are suffering with, a lot of older people are starting to suffer with the neuropathy.

[35:16] But those are probably some of the really core things that people are really struggling with, the autoimmune, the diabetes, the neuropathy, and also memory loss. That's a big thing too is that uh you know i like i said i took care of my mother-in-law for 15 months and her, her mind started to go and, you know when their minds start to go they're not the person that they used to be, they can't share their wisdom like what they used to have you know and they start to not understand exactly where they are in this world. And she was a school teacher. She went to a lot of higher education. She taught all of these kids, and she had so many fun stories. And once the mind starts to go, those stories can be lost. And so if we can find a way to be able to help people.

[36:23] To not, you know, to live their fullest life while they're here, to not have these auto immunes, to not have the diabetes, to not have these, heart problems, to not have the, you know, the dementias and stuff like that, then they could actually live this full life and they can share with us their wisdom clear until the end of their life, right? And so now I know that's a utopia and that is not normally how life is but what if we could just change some things today, that later on that will change our lives then, what if we just do those few things now to support our health support our mental capacity to support um our you know the people that we have around us like what are the, what if we just did a few things now, that could totally change our outcome of our lives later on.

[37:29] Powerful things to think about folks as you uh head out here uh i want to mention one more thing because we're going to run out of time and there's so much here and if i ask a question we're going to talk for another 20 30 minutes uh Liz just finished another book. Uh, I told you she was an author and I want to, uh, put a link to that in the show notes. And it's basically your memoir and called becoming me. And, uh, it's your story. Now, some of that we heard, uh, back in episode one. Uh, but I do want to ask, um, you're not as old as you are pretending to be with your age. Don't, don't try to do that, but why write a memoir this early? Well, I came from a totally different type of a family. I came from a polygamous family. My dad had four wives. And there was a I.

[38:30] Grew up different than a lot of people did. And I have a lot of different stories in there. And there were this was not a story that I wanted to tell. Because when you grow up that way, it's not like you want to go out and shout it from the rooftops because why? Because you're totally different and a lot of people don't understand you and they judge you because of it. But, you know, why did I write it? Because, it got to the point where I realized when I was going through my health journey, when I was, you know, yes, we talked about a lot of stuff in there that I did in the first episode to be able to heal my body.

[39:15] But there was a second part that we didn't talk about. And that was where I was seeing these clients one-on-one for a long time.

[39:26] And I got to the point where that voice came within me that said, Liz, your healing's not done yet.

[39:33] And I started to search more. And I realized that the health part was only part of it. But it was the emotional part that I had not dealt with. And for so many years, I tried to hide who I was. I didn't tell anybody who I was. And when I got married, I moved away and I kept that life a secret for so long. But what happens is eventually it starts to surface. And I felt within me that because I suppressed those emotions so much, I hid who I was, I didn't feel comfortable within my own skin. Is that it started to manifest in my health. There's only one way that it can, and it has to come out. It's like that jack-in-the-box that we saw when we were younger, right? When you crank it, crank it, crank it. And the longer we keep it bundled up inside, the more it's going to explode. And I really feel that that, now this, everybody can have their own opinion about it, whatever, But I really feel that my health started to suffer because of the emotional aspects.

[40:54] Of not being able to express with who I was. And so it came out within my health. And so as soon as I was able to figure out my health, then I started to work on my emotional aspect of it. And then I realized that how many people out there are suffering like me? That are hiding from who they are and not being able to be true to who they are. And so sharing my story was very vulnerable. It's like I said, it's something I didn't want to do. I wanted to not let people know this, but, um, I had an accident where I.

[41:36] Stepped on a really small rock, and my right leg went to the side, my left leg went forward, and as we talked about before, I had had multiple knee operations on that knee, and it only bent so far. So what it did is it catapulted me forward, my hands were in my pocket, and I face planted straight into the cement. And I ended up tearing both of my knees. And one knee was so bad that I couldn't repair it. I had to wait for it to get a knee operation. And this was just right at the tail end of COVID. And I needed to get a knee replacement. And anyways, I had to sit.

[42:23] I had to sit. And all of a sudden, that voice just came to me and said, It's time for you to write your memoir. I'm giving you time, time for stillness to write your memoir.

[42:38] And so as I sat down to write it, the words just started to flow out of me. And it was one of the hardest things that I ever did, because it was things that I had to face that I didn't want to, that I had kept bottled up in me. But it was also one of the most beautiful experiences, too, because there's something that happens when we put our hand to paper. We're finally able to heal different parts of our lives, and so that's what i did and by the end i came up with my book it's called becoming me a polygamist girl's journey to new beginnings and because of that i am a new person, fantastic i will have the link to that that you can get that and read her story or you can get the audio version it's available on kindle as well and of course folks, the BeHealthyUtah.com website if you want to travel to Utah in November and be a part of the conference and the ElizabethAnnWatt.com website where you can meet Liz and.
